Academics

Civitas Homeschool Resource Center has opened up two co-ops to support homeschool students and their families in Paso Robles and Atascadero. The CHRC is not a school, it is a resource center for homeschoolers. Classes are intended to supplement the education you are giving your kids at home. The co-op is full for this year, but here is a list of the types of classes we offer.

Core Subjects:
CORE classes will have higher expectations of students, parents and teachers, and are meant to be our most academic courses from elementary school to high school. CORE classes are typically year-long. Expect a detailed syllabus, homework, and grading. If your child is taking a CORE class, expect homework throughout the week between weekly class meeting times. Some classes will let you know if supplementation is needed for credit, but most are all inclusive. If you’re looking for history, math, science, or writing, look to our CORE classes!

Electives:
These are your fun, more laid back classes. Classes that are not necessarily academically focused, such as cooking, sewing, robotics, etc. will be your elective classes. Most student-taught classes also are considered ELECTIVES. Here is a list of some potential classes we may offer:
